Here are a few tips to make healthy choices if you are eating at an Indian restaurant this weekend:

  1. Opt for poppadoms rather than samosas or bhaji’s. Make sure that the poppadoms are not deep fried!
  2. Choose a chicken or vegetable curry rather than beef or lamb
  3. Skip the curries that are cooked with cream (such as masala or butter chicken)
  4. Opt for tandoori, tikka or bhuna dishes for a low cal option
  5. Skip the naan bread and chose steamed basmati rice
